Operational continuity and digital performance
SII Research aims to enable operational continuity and enhance the performance of industrial and digital systems through the following themes:
- Increasing the resilience of industrial and digital environments in the face of technical or cyber hazards.
- Optimizing production tools and industrial flows.
- Strengthening operational continuity and combating obsolescence with intelligent and adaptive solutions.
OUR RESEARCH TOPICS
SOLAR
The SOLAR (Simulation & Optimization of Logistic Allocation of Resources) project, led by SII's R&D team in partnership with DIM, aims to revolutionize the design and optimization of supply chains.
It simulates, analyzes, and optimizes the organization of assembly or transport chains in order to reduce costs and manufacturing times and improve operational efficiency.
Using ultra-fast simulation coupled with advanced optimization algorithms, the tool automatically explores the best possible configurations.
Artificial intelligence then analyzes the results to provide a clear diagnosis of the existing situation and recommend optimal workstation layouts and task sequences.
SOLAR thus helps manufacturers make informed decisions and design more efficient and resilient supply chains.
RetroCode
Understanding code can be complex, especially if it is written in an old language that is no longer maintained and poorly documented. This can be extremely time-consuming, even for experienced developers. However, maintaining and updating code is a recurring task.
RetroCode is a tool for explaining code. To do this, using the code as the sole source of truth, we are able to automatically create a UML diagram, functional and technical specifications, and comments on the associated code. This tool is part of a vision of the augmented developer of tomorrow.
Winner of the 2025 Innovation Challenge, RetroCode wants to go further and provide developers with assistance in managing code language changes, code refactoring, and even hardware changes. To this end, we are currently working on a code generation brick based on the specifications we create.
HEAVEN
This project aims to develop an innovative digital twin and embedded AI platform dedicated to the security of IT/OT/IoT environments.
It is based on a faithful virtual twin of connected industrial infrastructures, capable of emulating embedded systems, networks and edge equipment.
The platform generates realistic data, including normal and malicious traffic, as well as failure and anomaly scenarios.
Trained AI models are deployed directly on edge devices to detect latency anomalies, abnormal equipment behaviour and cyberattacks.
The aim is to test, validate and strengthen cybersecurity strategies before deploying them on real infrastructure.
