Profile:
We are looking for a design engineer with NX experience for the Dutch Railways (NS). NS innovates where it can. This makes converting 'older' trains into modern, sustainable trains an interesting challenge. You are the one who takes care of technical solutions that make a train journey just that little bit more fun, safer and more comfortable.
That's why you want to work at SII Netherlands for the NS
- You are part of multidisciplinary teams that work together on end-to-end products.
- Sustainable entrepreneurship is of paramount importance and in everything we do, you contribute to a sustainable mobility solution for the travellers.
- You work near the trains.
- You work for the biggest transport company of the Netherlands and contribute to improving the NS equipment.
At NS train modernization, you and your colleagues ensure that the trains can be used sustainably for a long time!
What will you do:
You support your fellow engineers and/or the design and construction team in the realization of projects, focused on the mechanical aspects, with the elaboration of technical specifications for rolling stock.
You take care of the inventory, modeling / construction and drawing on the various fields of work as well as filling in / completing product structures in the PDM information system. You should think of:
- Inventorying, modeling/constructing and drawing in 2D/3D on the various fields of work.
- Filling in/completing product structures in the information system.
- Working in an Agile team. You work with various colleagues from other fields (including WTB/E-engineers, buyers, production engineers, etc.) on one or more revisions, changes or construction products. You support the engineers and/or the Product Group with the development of technical specifications.
Modifications or modifications to WTB systems are installed on their own premises, in their production halls and in the trains. That is why you can regularly be found in the production environment to support you with a first installation as well as to analyze and solve design-related problems.
In this position you will work at NS Treinmodernisering in Haarlem, in the Engineering department within the CasCon & Revision team. The Engineering department takes care of the material-technical preparation of all our train modernizations, major construction changes, all overhauls and damage repairs. Our goal? Increasing the comfort for our passengers, more available trains and making our trains more sustainable through reduced energy consumption.
You work together in a team of about 20 driven colleagues. Each team member is responsible for their own parts and we spar a lot about the approach of different cases both within your own team and within the entire department. You report to the group leader of the engineering team CasCon & Revision.
The CasCon & Revision team is involved in the preparations of all overhauls of the rolling stock of the NS. Specifically, work is now underway on the modernization of the ViRM and the preparation of the overhaul for the SLT and the FLIRT.
NS Trein Modernisering is in a transition to a more agile working method, with Agile/Scrum as the basis in multifunctional product groups.
